There is an old saying “time flies when you are having fun”. It doesn’t seem that I came to Isle of Hope Baptist Church on July 26, 2009. I was invited as Guest Pastor, until you called me a Pastor. I first thank God, my Creator, for leading me into His ministry and to Isle of Hope Baptist. I want to thank each and every one of you for your trust, support and encouragement. Sonja and I have grown in our relationship with God and all of you at our Church. I hope you are excited about what God is doing in our Church. Jesus is the head of our Church and each one of us is His body. We are to function as our Lord has commanded us to do. We are to love the Lord our God with all of our heart, mind, soul, and strength, and to love our neighbors as ourselves. This is the great commandment. Each one of us Christian disciples is commanded to go and make disciples as Jesus has instructed us to do. We have got to have a burning in our hearts to love and bring the lost to a saving relationship with Jesus Christ. Hopefully, we will invite and bring someone to our loving Church. Pray to God to give someone in your sphere of influence to bring to Church. I will be looking forward to worshipping with each of you. Let’s get proactive and busy sharing the love of Jesus to the lost in our community, town and world.
"In preparing for eternity, it is more important to be ready than to get ready"
James espoused the premise that the effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much. We, as joint heirs with Christ, are called to a life of prayer. As members of a loving church family, we are committed to a close bonded prayer fellowship. Many of us can attest to the warmth, comfort, and up-lifted spirit we have experienced as recipients of the coporate prayer of this fellowship.
